Well. That’s annoying.

I know for a fact that I was over five miles of walking yesterday.  How do I know this?  Because I walked 1.7 miles before bed, and when I started I had 4.6 miles logged on my FitBit.  But, well, I forgot to make sure to sync the FitBit with my phone before I went to bed.  And now, the app is showing that I walked only 3.99 miles.  It isn’t a disaster or anything, because I still know what I did.  But it skews my records, you know?

Ah, well.  If that’s the worst thing that happens today, it’ll still be a good day.

Yesterday was incredibly successful, though.  I hit my walking goal (even if the FitBit doesn’t want to admit it), I got all my exercise in, and I came in under my calorie budget!  Yay, me!  Now, I just need to do it again today.

FitBit Customer Service Experience, Part Two

And now I have a response:

Hi Richard,
We’re sorry that you’re having trouble with the Fitbit app and we thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. We’ve passed it on to our engineering team for research.
We appreciate your patience with this matter. Please let us know if we can assist you further.
Sincerely,
Robie Neil R. and the Fitbit Team

So, yeah. A boilerplate canned answer.  I doubt there’ll be any follow-up, but let’s see.

FitBit Customer Service Experience, Part One

So, here’s what I sent them:

First, I was wondering if any progress had been made on the issue I reported? Specifically, the app keeps logging me off and forcing me to log back in. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app as a prior reply suggested, and it made no difference. I’m still being forced to log on to the app two to five times per day, at random intervals. This didn’t happen until the latest update of the app.

Second, the latest version of the app doesn’t accept changes to portion sizes once food is recorded. Once I update a change in portion sizes (such as eating three servings instead of two), I will need to review the app and make the change again multiple times per day and sometimes even the next day as well. This is frustrating to say the least, and it also makes me concerned that the app is not accurately recording my calorie intake. Please fix this.

Of course, I had problems with my connections.  So it seems I emailed them three times off one message, which makes me look like a bit of a raving lunatic.  Still, let’s see how this goes.
