Rocky Roads For The Slow Wagon

Plenty of craziness for me today – running errands and looking at furniture kept me from getting to Taekwando, and then my son’s got Cub Scouts so I haven’t been able to do my pushups or sit-ups yet. Heck, I don’t think I’ve been home yet. And I left for work at 4:30 in the morning.

Wait, no. I exaggerate. I was home for nearly fifteen minutes.

Still, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m going to try and get my exercises done when I get home (energy levels permitting), and if I don’t it was for good reasons. On, and I’m coming in under my calorie budget today!

Yay me!

Thankfully, The Wagon Is Slow

It’s been a rough six weeks or so since the start of the year. I won’t bore you with the excruciating details. Suffice it to say that there were family matters, and illnesses, and an unexpected but fun trip to Nashville, and that I generally fell off the wagon for a bit.

Thankfully, it’s a slow-moving wagon.

So now, back to work!

I’ve reset my goals to the starter g point – 5 pushups and 10 sit-ups, and 2.5 mph on the treadmill, and 10-15 minutes of taekwondo practice with my son on nights I don’t have class. No need to beat myself up, right? The goal is health, after all. Not perfection.

See you all on the trail, pardners!
