Things did not go as well as I’d have liked when I weighed in on Saturday, but the results weren’t a surprise. And, better yet, I’m not upset about it. Why? Because I’m still planning my experiment to see if changing the way I track my calories and think about what I eat will work, and it’s far too early to tell. So I’m still excited about getting back on track with walking and exercising and eating sensibly, and I’m not letting this get me down.
Also, let’s be honest here. I’m pretty much anticipating breaking even this week. Christmas is Sunday, after all, and I’m pretty sure that there will be food a-plenty all over work this week. Heck, I’m planning on making some of the food (cookies and homemade grape soda are somewhere on the agenda, if I get ambitious), so my goal is to be restrained. Treat cookies and fudge and the like as a pleasant sideline, not as a food group.
And then, next week? The holidays are over – well, except for New Year’s Eve, which really isn’t that huge a holiday in my family – and I’m going to rock this. 2017 is going to be a great year!
